KULOB, November 16, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has created its faction within the Kulob city legislature (Majlis).
The manager of the branch of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) in Kulob, Abdukarim Nematov, heads the PDP faction within the Kulob local council.
According to him, the faction will promote more thorough preparation of issues being brought to legislature’s attention and more concerted actions during voting. It will also improve activities of the legislature’s commissions led by the PDP members, Nematov said.
PDP now controls 34 of 40 seats in the Kulob local council.
Meanwhile, all the 45 employees of NBT’s branch in Kulob on November 15 unanimously voted for creation of the PDP primary organization at the bank.
