KULOB, June 12, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- The private brick-producing plant located in the village of Tuto, Khatlon’s Muminobod district has produced the first consignment of cob bricks.

Provided with Chinese equipment, the plant has capacity to produce 3 million bricks per year.

“The enterprise plant is able to produce brick of any configuration,” Muminobod chairperson Pirmad Zaripov told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the plant has produced cob bricks following an order by individual builders from nearby villages.  “Meanwhile, the plant has all necessary conditions to produce baked bricks,” Zaripov noted.

“Besides, two bathhouses have been built in the district and the construction of a two-story primary school is under way,” the district chairperson said, noting that 2 million somoni has been allocated from the Presidential Reserve Fund for construction of the Palace of Culture in Muminobod.

The Presidential Reserve Fund has also allocated 1 million somoni for reconstruction of roads in the Bahoriston settlement, which is the administrative center of the district.

Besides, construction of six schools will start in the district in the near future under financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).  The Aga Khan Development (AKF) is supporting construction of health centers in ten villages, Zaripov said.
