DUSHANBE, January 24, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Mr. Saidghufron Abdullo, Deputy Head of the Migration Service under the Government of Tajikistan, yesterday met here with Mr. Peter Cullen, Consul, Canadian Embassy in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which is also accredited to Tajikistan.
According to Tajik migration service agency’s press center, the sides discussed the labor migration cooperation issues, including organization of special courses on foreign languages for Tajik potential labor migrants.
They reportedly noted that the main problems facing Tajik labor migrants are lack of knowledge of the language of the host country and poor vocational skills.
In this connection, Saidghufron Abdullo asked Canadian diplomat to consider the possibility of supporting opening of a language study center for labor migrants in one of districts subordinate to the center.
195 Tajik nationals now live and work in Canada, the source noted.
