KULOB, June 28, 2013, Asia-Plus -- A database of persons receiving a disability pension has been created in Kulob.
“This database facilitates coordination and monitoring of the rehabilitation process for sick persons registered with the medico-social examination service agency,” Shodi Hukumatov, head of the medico-social examination service agency’s office in Kulob, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, all relevant agencies will have an access to the database that will promote an efficient exchange of information between them.
To-date, more than 166,000 people with disabilities have been registered in Tajikistan, Hukumatov added.
Meanwhile, according to official statistics, 11,500 people now receive the disability pensions ranging from 400 to 10,000 somoni per month, with 110 of them receiving the disability pensions in an amount of up to 2,000 somoni, 170 – up to 3,000 somoni, 124 – up to 10,000 somoni, and 10 – more than 10,000 somoni.
In 2012, more than one billion somoni were reportedly spent for payment of pensions in Tajikistan.
