DUSHANBE, November 27, 2013, Asia-Plus -- An investment forum has opened in the northern city of Isfara.
Organized by local authorities, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT) and the UNDP and UNICEF country offices in Tajikistan, the four is discussing the city development program, Iqbol Teshayev, a spokesman for the Isfara mayor’s office, said.
According to him, the main objective of the event that has brought together senior representatives from 30 ministries and agencies of Tajikistan, more than 100 domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, representatives of 30 international organizations and diplomatic missions of Belarus, Iran and Kyrgyzstan is in attracting investments for economic and social development of the city.
“Isfara Mayor Rahmonali Amirov, Deputy Sughd Governor Jamshed Norinov and Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Umed Davlatzoda have addressed the forum,” said Tesahyev, “They have called on the forum participants to actively participate in the Isfara development projects.”
The Isfara development program designed for 2013-2017 was reportedly presented during the forum. This program provides for implementation of 338 projects for total amount of 1.4806 billion somoni, Teshayev added.
