DUSHANBE, December 11, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Large farming units operating in the northern province of Sughd are expected to be reorganized until February next year, according to the Sughd administration press center.
Acting Sughd governor Abdurahmon Qodiri made a decision on additional measures to reorganize large farming units in Sughd province on December 9.
“Dehqon (peasant) farms having more than 10 hectares of arable irrigated lands will be liable to reorganization,” Qodiri said, noting that there are more than 3,300 such farms in the area.
“Large farming units will be reorganized for the purpose of making the agrarian sector profitable and export-oriented,” the acting governor stated.
According to him, a special attention will be given to establishment of family and individual dehqon farms.
