DUSHANBE, October 28, 2015, Asia-Plus – The administrative center of the Hisor district is expected to be given a city status before the end of this year.
Celebrations to mark the 3,500th anniversary Hisor took place at the Hisor Central Stadium on October 27.
Speaking at the Hisor anniversary celebration, President Emomali Rahmon ordered relevant officials to take measures so that Hisor will be given a city status before the end of this year, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
In his address delivered at the anniversary celebration, President Rahmon noted that all necessary urban infrastructure had been built in Hisor.
The president, in particular, said that the municipal redevelopment plan of Hisor for the period until 2032 was endorsed in 2012. Under this plan, Hisor will be a city with population of 55,000.
