Dushanbe’s Shohmansour bazaar has been temporarily closed down.
Vendors running shops at the bazaar say it was temporarily closed down Wednesday morning. “The bazaar administrators have not clarified the reason for closing down the bazaar,” the vendors say.
Meanwhile, Mashrab Qarayev the deputy director of the Shohmansour bazaar, says the bazaar has been temporarily closed down following an instruction of the Dushanbe fire department.
According to him, the bazaar has been closed down for an uncertain period – until shortcomings in the bazaar’s fire safety system are removed and inflammable panels of the shops are replaced.
“Rumors about relocation of vendors to the Poytakht-80 trading center are absolutely unfounded,” Qarayev added.
Vendors, however, say that the fire department has just implemented the city administration’s instruction on promotion of the Poytakht-80 trading center.
