The authorities say this is temporary, due to preventive and repair work at large hydroelectric power plants and high-voltage power lines.

The population of rural areas of the republic complains about long power outages since the beginning of last week.

In most districts of the Sughd region for the last four days there is no electricity for nine hours. This caused rumors among the population about the beginning of a hard limit on electricity consumption in the autumn-winter period.

Thus, a resident of the village of Khushekat, Devashtich district, told Asia-Plus that since the beginning of last week they have no "light" every day from 07:00 to 16:00, and no one explains the reasons for the shutdown.

«Earlier, in August of this year, the authorities at least warned of power outages by SMS messages. Restrictions probably started», - he noted.

It's even tougher in the south

Residents of the southern regions of the country also complain about the restriction of access to electricity: in the jamoats of the Kushonien district of the Khatlon region, people do not have electricity from 22:00 to 05:00 and from 08:00 to 17:00 in the afternoon. That is, they actually receive electricity only eight hours a day.

Barki Tojik: This is prevention, not a limit

In "Barki Tojik" they say that back on October 6 this year, consumers were warned about possible power outages due to preventive maintenance at purchased hydroelectric power plants and high-voltage lines.
