The Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Abdullozoda has called for mutual collaboration with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of medical herbs and pharmaceutical industry.
The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the official news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported on October 26 that the Tajik minister made the remarks at a meeting with Governor-General of Fars Province Mohammad-Hadi Imanieh in Shiraz on Tuesday (October 25), noting that the growth of mutual cooperation will help improve people’s health situation.
He reportedly also said that Iran is well-known in different fields in particular in medicine and that Tajikistan is seeking to acquire medical know-how and exchange proper experiences.
According to the minister, many Tajik physicians studied at the universities of Shiraz to upgrade their knowledge in terms of organ transplantation; then, they came back to Tajikistan and provided their compatriots with medical services.
The governor-general expressed readiness to provide Tajik patients with the opportunity to travel to the province because there is a good capacity for health tourism in this province.
During the meeting, a representative envoy of the Shiraz University of Medical Science emphasized that the renowned academic center is prepared for the exchange of experiences in terms of medical herbs breakthroughs and accepting medical students from Tajikistan, IRNA reported.
