The Central Asia TechConf 2025, one of the region’s key technology events, took place from October 27 to 31 in Bishkek, Tashkent, and Dushanbe. The conference was organized by A1 Project with support from the Central Asia Oracle User Group (CASOUG), the International Bank of Tajikistan, and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference brought together more than 200 specialists from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and other countries. Among the participants were IT professionals (analysts, developers, data engineers, database administrators), private company executives, government representatives, banking sector professionals, telecom experts, as well as members of international organizations and embassies. This turnout underscored the fact that Central Asia is increasingly shaping its own digital ecosystem and requires ongoing platforms to bring together IT professionals, businesses, and governments.

A highlight of Central Asia TechConf 2025 was the participation of global experts in the fields of databases, DevOps, artificial intelligence, and technological entrepreneurship. Speakers included Sandesh Rao (USA), Vice President of Applied AI at Oracle and a leading expert on Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems and intelligent agents; Alex Nuiten (Netherlands), Director of allAPEX and one of the foremost Oracle APEX specialists; Sean Scott (USA), Oracle ACE Director and author of Oracle on Docker, an expert in high-availability and containerized databases; Eric van Roone (Netherlands), a specialist in SQL and PL/SQL with extensive experience in large-scale data migration projects across Europe and the USA; Mirela Ardelian (Romania/Austria), Vice President of the European Oracle User Association and the only Oracle ACE Director from Romania; and Rustam Khojayev, Founder and CEO of A1 Project, the first and only Oracle ACE in Central Asia.

Youth as a key resource to support

A standout moment for conference attendees was a visit to the American Space in Dushanbe. International experts praised the high level of engagement among the local youth, their ability to ask insightful professional questions, and their eagerness for development. They noted that such keen interest in technology among the younger generation is still rare in many countries.

Rustam Khojayev emphasized, "The goal of this event is not only to exchange knowledge but to create a professional community capable of developing regional IT standards and operating at an international level." He added that the increasing number of young specialists, their interest in education, and their desire to learn from global experts are key resources that must be supported.

Key topics of the conference

Among the major topics discussed at Central Asia TechConf 2025 were the use of Oracle technologies in the banking sector, telecommunications, and government systems; the role of professional communities in developing IT infrastructure; the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for business and government; and modern approaches to data security and management.

High demand for professional knowledge

The conference demonstrated that there is a persistent and growing demand for professional knowledge and platforms for knowledge sharing in Central Asia. Notably, youth interest stood out: many students and emerging IT specialists participated in discussions alongside experienced engineers and company leaders. This highlighted the growing importance of cultivating technical talent in the region.

The conference also underscored the increasing demand for Oracle solutions in Central Asia. From banking systems to government platforms, these technologies form the backbone of many critical digital processes. Experts pointed out that the region is no longer just a consumer of foreign IT products, but is increasingly becoming a hub for developing its own engineering competencies and exportable solutions.

It is clear that Central Asia TechConf 2025 continues to be a relevant and high-profile event. In closing, the organizers confirmed that the conference would continue to attract top global experts in databases, DevOps, AI, and tech entrepreneurship.
