Coroners have finished the autopsy report in the death of Michael Jackson, but it will not be released while detectives continue their investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

"The LAPD has requested that the Jackson autopsy findings regarding the cause and manner of death remain confidential," a statement said on Monday.

Jackson died of cardiac arrest on June 25 at the age of 50. Media reported on Monday that the pop star''s body had been buried at a Los Angeles cemetery.

It is not known when the police investigation will be completed. It is believed to focus on Jackson''s use of a powerful anesthetic called propofol to sleep, and the probe has included interviews with Jackson''s doctors and searches of their offices.

"The investigation being conducted by the LAPD has included dozens of individual interviews and the service of search warrants locally and out-of-state," the LAPD statement said.
