QURGHON TEPPA, February 14, Asia-Plus - Conference of the Khatlon regional organization of Tajik Journalists’
The conference was supposed to be convened following a letter by chairperson of the Khatlon justice department, in which she notes that activity of the Khatlon organization of Tajik Journalists’
But n the day of the holding of the conference Ms. Amirshoyeva stated that the conference is illegal and contrary to requirements of Article 56 of the RT Law “On Public Associations”.
Besides, according to her, powers of delegates that have not been elected by primary organizations are illegal as well.
Head of the Khatlon organization of Tajik Journalists’ Union Sherali Yahyoyev says that according to the rules the organization’s chairman should be elected, while the Khatlon justice department considers that the organization’s head should be appointed by Tajik Journalists’
According to Mr. Yahyoyev, this debate is directly connected with his personality. Amirshoyeva however, claims that it is not of importance for her who will be head of the organization but the important thing is observance of law.
As a result, the conference has been postponed for unknown time.
