DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus  -- The forthcoming visit of Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov to Kazakhstan is supposed to result in signing of a series of bilateral agreements on aerial communication, labor migration, oil products supply, cultural cooperation and so forth, Kazakh Ambassador to Tajikistan Yerlan Abildayev announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on March 6.  

However, the ambassador said that the date of visit was still unknown.  

According to him, the two presidents are supposed to discuss issues related to the construction of electric main from Tajikistan to Kazakhstan after one of three hydropower stations in Tajikistan (Roghun, Sangtuda-1, and Sangtuda-2f) is put into operation.  

“Kazakhstan’s Investment Fund, for its part, is keen on the construction of a cascade of hydropower plants on the Zarafshon River in northern Tajikistan,” Mr. Abildayev said, adding that Kazakh investors are carefully studying economic climate in Tajikistan and conditions of cooperation not only in the area of energy but also in pharmaceutics and processing farm produce.
