, April 11, Asia-Plus - The cotton-sowing campaign in
Tajikistan
is ongoing.
Saidmurod Bahriddinov, head of the technical crops department of the Agriculture Ministry, has told Asia-Plus that 72,908 hectares of areas have to date been sown with cotton, which is 28.2 percent of 258,600 hectares of lands allotted for cotton.
Cotton-growing farms in the
northern province
of Sughd have sown 10,230 hectares of lands with cotton (13.4%) so far, Khatlon province – 61,897 hectares (38.7%) and districts subordinate to the center – 781 hectares (3.8%).
The national cotton target for this year has been determined at 550,000 tons.
