DUSHANBE, June 16, Asia-Plus -- Tajik border troops seized some twenty kilograms of drugs at the Tajik-Afghan border in the Farkhor district today morning.
According to information from the Tajik border service, their troops on a routine patrol spotted and detained trespasser, who was illegally crossing the border river in the Farkhor district today, early in morning, at around 4:00 a.m. the trespasser proved to be Afghan citizen Alikhon valadi Malam. 31 packets containing heroin and two sack of cannabis totaling nearly 20 kilograms were confiscated from him. Investigation is under way.
Eight kilograms of heroin were intercepted by officers from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug trafficking) in Khujand on June 15. The drugs were confiscated from a 35-year-old resident of Khujand Davron Soliyev. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against him and an investigation is under way.
