KULOB, August 2, Asia-Plus - The Shuroobod district stands in first place among ten districts of the Kulob region in Khatlon in terms of the amount of firearms confiscated from the population over the past seven months, Jumakhon Mukhtorov, a chief inspector with the Kulob police directorate, said.
According to him, 36 sub-machine-guns “Kalashnikov” have been confiscated in the Kulob region of Khatlon over the past seven months, which is 13 sub-machine-guns fewer compared to the same period of the last year. “10 of those sub-machine-guns have been confiscated from the local population in Shuroobod,” Jumakhon Mukhtorov said.
Besides those 36 sub-machine-guns, 22 pistols, 50 hunting guns, 10 grenade launchers, four carbines, two machine-guns, one sniper rifle, and some 4,000 bullets of difference caliber have been confiscated from the population in the Kulob region over the past seven months.
