DUSHANBE, August 16, Asia-Plus -- Russia’s Minister of Interiors, Rashid Nurgaliyev, is arriving in Dushanbe today afternoon to attend a joint board meeting of the interior ministries of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation set for August 17.
According to information from the Tajik Ministry of Interior (MoI), the meeting is aiming to consider issues related to further expansion of interaction between Tajikistan and Russia in detention of internationally wanted persons. Participants at the meeting also will discuss a progress of the implementation of decisions made at the previous joint board meeting that was held last year in Moscow, and cooperation between operational services of the two countries in fighting transnational crime and trafficking in drugs and weapons.
The MoI source says Tajik Minister of Interiors Khumdin Sharipov will meet his Russian counterpart at the airport, where they will give a news conference.
