DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus - On Saturday September 30, Tajik cellular operator Babilon-Mobile, which accounts for 41 percent of mobile telecommunications services in Tajikistan, greeted its 300,000th client. 

According to Babilon-Mobile, the company donated a car VAZ-21015 and 300,000 minutes to its 300,000 th client. 

A source in the antimonopoly agency said that Babilon-Mobile is on the register of monopolists as it accounts for 41 percent of users of mobile telecommunications services in the country. ”Before introducing new fees the company must coordinate them with the antimonopoly commission,” the source said. 

The commission source also said that TT-Mobile, a closed joint-stock company operating under the MLT brand has 18 percent of the telecommunications marketand has also been added to the register. 

According to the Ministry of Communications, the number of users of mobile communications has increased by 300,000 since the beginning of the year.  Nine mobile providers now function in Tajikistan: MLT; Babilon-Mobile; Indigo-Tajikistan; Indigo-Somoncom; M-Teco; Beeline; Telecom Inc and TK-Mobile.
