DUSAHNBE, October 6, Asia-Plus - Another attempt of drug pushing has been warded off in Dushanbe.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Jurakhon Uroqov, resident of the Kolkhozobod district (Khatlon), was detained in the Firdavsi district of the capital city yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing. A package containing some 3 kilograms of heroin was confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Uroqov, and investigation is under way.
In all, the country’s law enforcement officers have intercepted more than 4,000 kilograms of drugs, with a half of them being heroin, over the past nine months.
