KHUJAND, March 24, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- Four new industrial enterprises have been constructed in the northern Sughd province.  The enterprises have reportedly created some 800 new jobs for local residents.  

President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Sughd province on a two-day visit on March 24.  During his stay in the province, the head of state is participating an official opening of a number of new facilities.

On Thursday, Emomali Rahmon inaugurated a three-story apartment building for 83 families of officers of the National Guard in the city of Chkalovsk.  In Khujand, he attended groundbreaking ceremonies for construction of the Center of Culture and the Palace of Sports.

On the same day, President Rahmon attended a meeting of the Sughd regional administrators that took place in the city of Qairoqqum.

In Qairoqqum, Rahmon also attended ceremonies of official opening of the glass–manufacturing plant and the flour-milling plant.

The glass-manufacturing plant, Barodaroni Sakhovatmand, with capacity of producing 1.44 million cubic meters of glass and 25.3 million empties per year has created 100 new jobs for local residents.

The flour-milling plant, Farovon, with capacity of processing 32 tons of wheat per one shift has been built by local entrepreneurs Bahodur Bobojonov, Isroilkhouja Samandarov and Rahmon Mirzomansourov.  The entrepreneurs say the price for wheat flour produced by their flour-milling plant will be 20 percent lower than current market prices.  This flour-milling plant has created 24 new jobs.

Besides, a spinning mill, Olim Textiles, with capacity of processing 5,700 tons of cotton fiber per year will be introduced into operation in Mastchoh district.  The enterprise will create 365 new jobs.

The second line of limited liability company, Khujand-Invest-Cotton, will be introduced into operation in Zafarobod district. The first line of this enterprise produces cotton yarn and the second line will produce cotton socks.  In all, some 300 people now work with the enterprise.
