DUSHANBE, October 6, 2012, Asia-Plus – On Friday October 5, the leaders of Tajikistan and Russia discussed bilateral relations, including energy cooperation.
At a joint press conference after the talks, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon noted that in accordance with the United Nations Charter and other international legal norms, Tajikistan has the right to use its natural resources, including the hydropower ones, for the benefit of its people.
“However, it does not mean that developing our energy sector, we pursue only our own ends,” Tajik leader stressed.
In its approaches, Tajikistan always proceeds from observing reasonable balance of national and regional interests, Ramon stressed.
