Scientists of the Institute of Botany, Physiology and Plant Genetics of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan agreed to develop cooperation with colleagues from Uzbekistan. The meeting took place within the framework of the visit of Uzbek scientists to Tajikistan.

Head of the Laboratory of Genetics and Plant Breeding of the Institute, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Kurbonali Partoev noted that in 2019 joint research was launched to study the collection material of Jerusalem artichoke, wheat, leguminous crops, as well as the effect of plant growth stimulants in the conditions of the two republics. 

Scientists from the two countries agreed to continue these studies and identified specific tasks.

For example, the Institute of Botany will research the cultivation of Jerusalem artichoke and wheat in cooperation with specialists of veterinary medicine of the Samarkand Agrarian University.

With the specialists of the Scientific Research Institute of Breeding, Seed Production and Agrotechnology of Uzbekistan, the study of the plant growth stimulator, which was transferred to Tajikistan last year, will be continued.
