Tajik killed by suspected skinheads in Croatia

On the night of March 25-26, a group of suspected skinheads in the city of Opatia (Croatia) set fire to a wooden van, which labor migrants from Afghanistan and Central Asia were living.

as a result of attack of skinheads.
The Itar-Tass reported today that on the night of March 25-26, on the outskirts of the Croatian city of
Opatia
, a group of skinheads set fire to a wooden van, in which labor migrants from
Afghanistan
and
Central Asia
were living. The labor migrants were illegally working with one of Turkish companies dealing with road building, according to Itar-Tass.
The skinheads armed with bats were severely beating the migrants, who were trying to save themselves from the fire.
As a result, the 19-year-old citizen of
Tajikistan
died from wounds received and two Afghans with serious wounds and burns were hospitalized.
According to Itar-Tass, one of attackers received a stab wound during the fight and was detained by local police when he was taking medical aid.
At present police are seeking other participants of the attack. Proceedings have also been instituted against the construction company using services of illegal migrants.
In the meantime, officials with
Tajikistan
’s Ministry of Interior say they do not have information about this incident.
