DUSHANBE, September 21, Asia-Plus – Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbe Atambayev has offered to set up Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Disaster Response Center in south of Kyrgyzstan, Russia’s news agency Interfax said.    

“During his meeting with the SCO emergencies ministers in Bishkek, Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev suggested that the SCO Center for Logistical Support and Responding to Emergency Situations should be set up in the Kyrgyz city of Osh,” Interfax cited Kyrgyz government’s press service as saying on Thursday.    

According to him, the center could be used for keeping fuel and lubricating materials, building and other materials.  

We will recall that Mahmadullo Zokirov, the head of the State for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES), attended the third conference of emergencies ministers from member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that was held in the Kyrgyz capital on September 19-20.  y. 

.The conference, which brought together emergencies ministers from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, considered the issues on emergency recovery and prevention of emergency situations.
