DUSHANBE, January 14, Asia-Pus -- Some 90 vehicles has been trapped in avalanches on the highway Dushanbe-Khujand, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI said that the vehicles that had been moving from Khujand to Dushanbe were tapped in a series of avalanches that occurred in the Maykhura area on January 11.
The source added that the meteorology and emergency authorities have advised people to refrain from unnecessary travels until January 20.
The work on clearing the road is underway, but ongoing snowfalls are making it difficult.
Temperatures in ome areas of Tajikistan have dropped below -10 Celsius Heavy snowfalls and avalanches have disrupted public transport in many areas.
We will recall that at least 80 people were stranded on the highway from Dushanbe to Khujand for several days last week after an avalanche blocked the highway in some places.
