DUSHANBE, August 21, 2008, Asia-Plus -- in the near future, the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) will set up special rescue groups in the cities of Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa as well as the settlement of Gharm, the administrative center of the Rasht district, according to the CES press service.
Along with professional rescuers some 500 volunteers, having taken special training, will work with these groups.
Officers from the CES rescue service, Tsentrospas, will provide technical aid to these groups and assist with training of personnel for them, the press service said. Some 200 professional rescuers currently work in Tajikistan.
