DUSHANBE, November 4, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Gunmen have killed an employee of the currency exchange office located at the Korvon market in Dushanbe.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the incident took place yesterday at around 6:30 a.m. “According to the preliminary investigation, unidentified men fired at the car of the exchange office employee Ayub Safaraliyev from sub-machine-gun Kalashnikov when he dove up to his office,” the source at a MoI said, noting that the assailants seized 20,000 somoni and escaped.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
