DUSHANBE , February 13, Asia-Plus - Over the last weekends alone, more than 33 kilograms of drugs were intercepted by Tajik police across the republic, according to information from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police).

The Tajik drug police source has told Asia-Plus that a cache containing more than 28 kilograms of drugs, including more than 23 kilograms of cannabis and five kilograms of heroin, was found in the area of farming unit “Ittifoq” in Hamadoni district on Saturday [February 11].

Besides, some five kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from Dushanbe resident Yusufali Gadoyev on Sunday, February 12.

In total, In Tajikistan, more than 50 kilograms of drugs, with 13 kilograms of them being heroin, were intercepted over the last week, according to the source.
