DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus -- “We have not received any official notification of suit filed by Dushanbe Vodokanal against leader of our party,” Hikmatullo Sayfullozoda, a spokesman for the Islamic revival Party of Tajikistan (IRPT), said in his interview with Asia-Plus.
“Earlier, we settled a conflict with Ms. Petra Zaidler, head of the Dushanbe water supply project,” Mr. Sayfullozoda said. “The point is that in his interview with the Dushanbe weekly “Millat”, Said Abdullo Nuri did not accused the Dushanbe Vodokanal administration of having been involved in corruption and having misappropriated funds provided by the World Bank for rehabilitation of the water supply system in Dushanbe,” the IRPT spokesman said, noting that the weekly’s correspondent rather misrepresented what Mr. Nuri said.
According to him, at present the IRPT leader Said Abdullo Nuri is outside the republic and therefore it is still hard to say what response of the party’s leadership to this action will be.
