KHUJAND, July 31, 2010, Asia-Plus -- 4.65 kilograms of poppy heads have been confiscated from the 29-year-old resident of the northern city of Panjakent, Muhsiddin Bahriddinov, according to the Sughd police directorate.
Officers from the Panjakent police department found a package containing 4.65 kilograms of poppy heads while searching Bahriddinov’ house on July 30, the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Muhsiddin Bahriddinov under the provisions of Article 200, Part 3 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – illicit trafficking in narcotics drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors. An investigation is under way.
