On Wednesday Tajik Prime Minister Aqil Aqilov met with Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Bhutan Lyonpo Kinzang Dorji.
Envoy Lyonpo Kinzang Dorji handed Tajik Prime Minister the official message of Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan and expressed Bhutan’s willingness to establish diplomatic, trade and economic relations with Tajikistan, Tajik Government’s press service reports.
It was noted in the course of the meeting that Bhutan, just like Tajikistan, is a mountain country with huge hydropower resources, but current economic development is being achieved thanks to agrarian sector and mountain tourism.
PM Aqilov said that our countries have similar opportunities and resource potential and are able to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture, tourism and construction of hydropower facilities using each other’s experience.
It has been also noted that Bhutan always supports Tajikistan’s initiatives in water related issues. The sides have expressed their interest and willingness to support each other’s position in many issues.
