DUSHANBE, August 1, 2012, Asia-Plus -- On Monday July 30, Tajikistan’s new Ambassador to the United States Nouriddin Shamsov presented his letter of credentials to United States President Barrack Obama, the Tajik MFA information department said.
In the course of the talks that took place after the credentials presentation ceremony, Tajik new envoy handed over Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s complimentary message to President Obama.
President Obama reportedly noted that Tajikistan remained reliable partner of the United States in establishing peace and accord in Afghanistan. Mr. Obama stressed that the United States would expand cooperation with Tajikistan in combating terrorism, transnational crime and drug trafficking in the future as well, the source said.
