DUSHANBE , July 19, Asia-Plus - On Tuesday July 18, President Emomali Rahmonov had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin, presidential press service reported.

According to the source, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation .  Their talks focused on participation of the Russian Federation in the construction of hydropower facilities in Tajikistan .  

Presidential press service says the Russian president reiterated Russia ’s readiness to provide support for socioeconomic development of Tajikistan .  In the course of the talks the two also discussed issues a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest.
