DUSHANBE, March 5, Asia-Plus - A group of MPs of Bundestag (parliament of Germany) is scheduled to visit Tajikistan in the second half of March.

According to press service of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), this issue was discussed Monday, March 5, at a meeting Ubaidullo Davlatov, deputy speaker of Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament, with German Ambassador to Tajikistan Rainer Muller.  

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that a delegation to visit Tajikistan will consist of members of the Bundestag group for friendship with Central Asia’s states.  The main purpose of the visit is for German MPs to provide technical assistance to the Majlisi Namoyandagon as part of the program for improvement of inter-parliamentary ties, according to him.   

“During its stay in Tajikistan, the German parliamentary delegation is also scheduled to hold talks with high-ranking Tajik state officials and visit a number of regions,” said the spokesman, “Besides, they are expected to conduct a training seminar and hold presentation of the book dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.” 

According to the spokesman, Ubaidullo Davlatov hailed a good level of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany and noted that the upcoming visit of the Bundestag delegation will give a new impulse for further expansion of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
