DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus - More than 3,500 women from Dushanbe will receive extraordinary grants on occasion of International Women’s Day (IWS).
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that by mayor’s resolution 814 women – veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and 259 women, whose children or husbands died when protecting constitutional order of the country will be given a 300 somonis extraordinary grant each.
“Besides, another 2,509 women, including civil servants and public figures, full and corresponding members of the Tajik Academy of Sciences, as well as female members of various creative unions and teachers at higher educational institutions and schools, will receive 250 somonis each,” the spokesman said.
“A total amount of funds provided from the city budget for this purpose is 949,150 somonis,” Saidov noted, adding that deputy mayors are to hand the extraordinary grants in all four districts of Dushanbe.
In the meantime, Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev will congratulate Dushanbe women on occasion of International Women’s Day today.
