DUSHANBE, August 15, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon today sent a telegram of congratulations to his Indian counterpart, President Pratibha Patil, on occasion of the 60th anniversary of Indian’s Independence, presidential press service said.
In his message of congratulations, President Rahmon, in particular, underlined the importance of the fact that India had managed to get over the great difficulties during a relatively short period and now is on the way to social development.
Traditionally friendly relations between Tajikistan and India are entering a new level and further development of them will be in benefit of the peoples of the two countries, the message said.
Tajik president also noted that Tajikistan and India could actively promote further expansion of a wide cooperation between countries of Central and South Asia.
