The President of Tajikistan within the framework of a working trip to the Sughd region today visited the Devashtich district. In the village of Yakhtan Emomali Rahmon put into operation the new building of secondary school №17, the press service of the head of state reports.
The president also commissioned a health center that will serve, in addition to residents of Yakhtan, residents of nearby villages.
Yakhtan village of the Devashtich district (former Ganchi) of the Sogd region was famous for the fact that grandfather and father of the current president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev were born here.
The culmination of Emomali Rahmon’s stay in the area was the unveiling of a monument to the glorious son of the Tajik people, Devashtich, who bravely fought with the Arab conquerors.
