Ahead of the Victory Day veterans of the Great Patriotic War who live in Dushanbe will be awarded an extraordinary grant of 600 Somoni. The funds will be allocated from the Dushanbe Mayor’s reserve fund.
According to Mahmadsaid Ubaidullaev’s order, one-time allowances will be allocated to veterans of the Leningrad Blockade (siege of Lenongrad) who live in Dushanbe as well as residents of Dushanbe who were awarded Soviet medals for selfless labor, warriors-internationalists, invalids and liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, members of families of those who died protecting constitutional order in Tajikistan and widows of participants of the Great Patriotic War. All of them will be awarded 400 Somoni each, a spokesman for the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office Shavkat Saidov told AP.
A total of 524.000 Somoni will be allocated from the Dushanbe Mayor’s reserve fund. Money awards will be handed on May 5 by Mayor’s deputies.
Dushanbe Mayor also ordered to carry out a universal cleaning campaign in the city on May 5. The campaign is aimed to clean memorials to participants of the Great Patriotic War and alleys of glory.
He also urged top managers of enterprises located in Dushanbe to provide assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
