Flash floods hit several provinces of Afghanistan in the past 24 hours and over 110 people were killed and nearly 150 were wounded, TOLONews reported on Thursday. 

The death toll of victims of flooding in the northern province of Parwan rose to 85, while more than 110 others were wounded, according to local officials on Thursday. 

According to local officials, most of the victims are women and children.

Parwan local officials said that the flooding occurred around 3:00 am on Wednesday. 

Local officials said that hundreds of houses and many vehicles were destroyed in Charikar.

At least 10 people were killed and over 10 others were wounded in flash floods in Kohband district of north-eastern Kapisa province on Wednesday night, said Shayeq Shoresh, a spokesman for Kapisa police. 

Flooding also occurred in Hes-e-Awal-e-Kohistan, Hes-e-Dowom-e-Kohistan, Nijrab district and the capital of Kapisa province, and has destroyed thousands of acres of land and gardens, he said. 

Also, at least three people were killed in flash floods in Panjshir province on Wednesday night, said Mansour Enbabi, a spokesman for the provincial governor. 

Pajhwok says at least 15 people, including women and children, were killed and 13 others wounded in flash floods in central Kapisa and Panjshir provinces.

Flooding has occurred in Jalrez, Chak, Daimirdad, and Sayedabad districts of central Maidan Wardak province, according to the provincial officials, who said 264 families have been displaced, according to TOLONews. 

Seven people were killed and five others were wounded in the floods while three children are missing, officials added.

At least eight other people were and 14 others wounded in flash floods in Surobi district of Kabul, said Khushal Nabizada, the head of Kabul's health department.

Floods were also reported in Nuristan in the east and Logar province--in central Afghanistan.
